NEW FORWARD TEES
The club is proud to announce the addition of our new yellow fast tees, now in use on the front nine. These tees reduce the length of each hole by up to 50 percent!
They are perfect for our growing junior membership and junior program.
The new tees are also perfect for beginner golfers, short hitters or anyone who feels most comfortable playing a shorter course.
The option to play our course at a reduced length will be an effective way to improve the pace of play and offer a more suitable course for less experienced golfers.
If your ball comes to rest beside one of the yellow markers or within the teeing area, please move your ball two club lengths away and play your shot.
Many thanks to board member Chris Fritsch for creating the markers.

2026 Junior Golf Camps
Our 2026 Junior program is full. The club received 200 applications for the 60 positions. During our junior program, which takes place in two separate camps on July 13-17 and July 20-24, tee time availability will be affected. Without a driving range, it is important that participants have access to our golf course. Therefore, for both camps, the tee will be blocked off from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for the two weeks. This will allow our group of kids to play nine holes and experience the full golf experience. After the camps are done, the rest of the summer is open, and the junior program will be fully wrapped up.
Thanks for your cooperation and support of our junior golfers.
Ladies’ clubs needed
Club pro Jan Best is appealing to our lady members to donate golf clubs for our junior program. We need as many ladies’ clubs as possible, whether drivers, woods, hybrids, irons, or putters. Anything helps.
Ladies’ clubs are perfect for youngsters due to their lightweight, flexible, and short design. They can be dropped off with any pro shop staff on any day of the week.
Ladies with a sense of adventure, book your spot on Jan’s Magical Mystery Ladies’ Only Golf Trip in 2026. Sign up in the Pro Shop. And gents, if you haven’t figured out what to get your Sweetie for Christmas, surprise her with a seat on Jan’s Magical Mystery Ladies’ Only Golf Trip.

Mount Brenton Golf Course opened in 1948 and celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023. The par 71/73 course, Vancouver Island’s Hidden Gem, is in the scenic, historic town of Chemainus, Canada’s Mural Capital. With shaded fairways flanked by towering firs, the course also features willow, hemlock, maple, scotch, ponderosa pine, sequoia, cedar, dogwood, and giant cottonwood. The course is challenging for every level of golfer; there are creeks to hurdle and ponds to circumvent. Maintained by an excellent grounds crew, the fairways are lush, the greens are true and tricky, and the sand is deep. An extensive drainage system also makes Mount Brenton one of the most playable golf courses year-round on Vancouver Island. Book a tee time today and come and see for yourself.
