New first tee time start
Our total rounds so far this year are up 94% from last year. The extra traffic and cold temperatures are causing additional wear and tear on our golf course. As a result, starting Thursday, February 26, our starting tee time will be 9 am for the foreseeable future. With colder temperatures forecast, this measure will protect our course now and over time.
Mount Brenton Kids Golf Camps 2026
Give your kids five full days of golf, growth, and fun this summer at Mount Brenton Golf Course. Our camps run Monday to Friday, 10:00 am–3:00 pm (with pickup between 2:30–3:00 pm, depending on the pace of play), making it easy for parents to drop off for the day while kids enjoy 5–6 hours of structured instruction, games, and on-course play. All lessons are conducted by PGA professionals, ensuring quality instruction in a fun and supportive environment.
Camp Dates: • July 13–17 (Ages 5–10) • July 20–24 (Ages 11–18)
Each camp is limited to 30 participants — the first 30 registered secure their spot!
✨ What to Expect: • Camp Schedule: Daily skill development with slightly different instructions each day, lunch break from 11:30 am–12:00 pm. Final Camp Day Activities: Parents drive kids to Mount Brenton, then pick them up at noon and take them to Duncan Meadows to use the driving range. Camp concludes following the driving range session. Equipment and Refreshments: Two brand new sets of clubs given away by random draw at the start of each week, clubs are provided for anyone who needs them, water & sunscreen available.

Course Conditions
Hole #11 will be open Thursday, February 19, with the tee box on the fairway approximately 100 yards out.
Some green collars have been repaired, and the front of the green is roped off. Please stay off the newly sodded area.
During the next irrigation phase, the crew will work across fairways 12 & 13 to replace the mainline. Those holes will remain open but shortened for that work.
After that, the crew will replace the irrigation from 12 green back to the crossroad, at which time the hole will be closed.
The course is in reasonably good condition for this time of year. The exceptions are some of our older greens that struggle through the winter. As it appears the weather will shift back to colder, wetter conditions, we will consider closing some of them for a week or two to reduce stress from winter play.
Projects/Other Work

Divot Day
The course will be closed on April 7, 8, and 9 for green punching and maintenance.

The Golf Course
Mount Brenton Golf Course opened in 1948 and celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023. The par 71/73 course, Vancouver Island’s Hidden Gem, is in the scenic, historic town of Chemainus, Canada’s Mural Capital. With shaded fairways flanked by towering firs, the course also features willow, hemlock, maple, scotch, ponderosa pine, sequoia, cedar, dogwood, and giant cottonwood. The course is challenging for every level of golfer; there are creeks to hurdle and ponds to circumvent. Maintained by an excellent grounds crew, the fairways are lush, the greens are true and tricky, and the sand is deep. An extensive drainage system also makes Mount Brenton one of the most playable golf courses year-round on Vancouver Island. Book a tee time today and come and see for yourself.

The Mount Brenton Pub kitchen is open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for breakfast, and until noon on weekends (8 a.m. until noon on Sundays), and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for lunch and dinner, Sunday through Tuesday, and until 9 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday.
Beverage service runs until 9 p.m. from Sunday through Thursday, and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
